Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Chi Omega, Zeta Iota Chapter
The newest chapter at Stanford University, Alpha Chi Omega (AX𝛀) is an organization of women who empower each other to seek the heights.
Alpha Chi Omega at Stanford is a sisterhood full of Real. Strong. Women. We are executive producers, RAs and founders of organizations like Women in Politics. We are creative minds who serve as leaders all across Stanford’s campus in groups like LSJUMB, Ram’s Head,
Stanford Wind Symphony, and various campus a capella groups.
Whether we are watching episodes of The Bachelor, bringing food trucks to campus for our sisters and friends, hosting pancakes breakfasts, or piling into a study room in OU to help each other on each dreaded P-set, Alpha Chi Omega is a support system unlike any other. We have found our favorite moments to be getting Chick-fil-a or Krispy Kreme after Sunday night chapter, supporting Stanford athletics or traveling to the beach for a much-needed sister retreat day!
The wonderful thing about Alpha Chi Omega is each member is able to scale her involvement to a level that works best for her schedule. Whether you’re an athlete, member of a university club or have internships, our members are support each other in their personal, academic, and social lives by Alpha Chi’s sisterhood. Outside of weekly chapter meetings, members can get involved in a variety of activities from sisterhood lunches and dinners, philanthropic service events, mixers as well a Special D’s and formals. Members infuse AX𝛀 into their lives to make their time at Stanford a rich and well-rounded experience.
Domestic violence awareness and prevention is Alpha Chi Omega’s philanthropy. It is cause that every Alpha Chi holds close to their heart. Domestic violence affects 1 in 3 women (according to the National Coalition of Domestic Violence) at some point in their life. The best way to prevent domestic violence is through education and awareness. We are proud to educate members of our community on the signs of unhealthy relationships and different types of domestic violence during Domestic Violence Awareness month. In addition to our prevention and educational efforts, Alpha Chi also works closely with local and national organizations like:
- Heart and Home Women’s Shelter
- Foster a Dream
Through fundraising and volunteering with these organizations, AX𝛀 hopes to promote awareness and prevention of domestic violence and make a lasting impact in our communities.
As the newest chapter on campus, AX𝛀 offers a unique chance to contribute to a thriving organization with many leadership opportunities. We offer workshops, trainings, and retreats to build recruitment acumen and refine leadership skills. If a member strives for a leadership role, the time commitment does increase, but so do the rewards of the position and your overall sorority experience! We elect executive board members and committee chair positions each year AX𝛀, providing plenty of chances to build specific professional skill sets.
