Alpha Phi is a sisterhood of outstanding women supporting one another in lifelong achievement.
The Alpha Phi Fraternity is one of the country’s oldest and largest Greek organizations, dating back to 1872. The Kappa Chapter of Alpha Phi was founded at Stanford only 20 years later—making it the 10th chapter in a sisterhood that now boasts more than 150 chapters worldwide. Moreover, Alpha Phi International presented our chapter with the "Best Sisterhood" award during our annual Leadership Conference!
In Alpha Phi, get ready for three years with sisters as talented and brilliant as they are goofy, spontaneous, and inclusive. From the moment Alpha Phis receive their bids, it’s a whirlwind of sisterhood, philanthropy, leadership and amazing nightlife.
Not only is every second filled with fun and genuine friendship, we also find time to support each other in all our endeavors—including starting positions on teams like soccer, water polo, diving, synchro, sailing, crew, rowing and equestrian. You can find our sisters breaking out their best rally as Sierra Camp counselors, Dance Marathon captains, Gaeties performers, and SPOT leaders. Alpha Phis are famously involved in pre-professional groups like BASES, Stanford Women in Business and Stanford Marketing, where we hold prominent positions and facilitate amazing networking opportunities for our peers. As a chapter we also contribute thousands of dollars to the Alpha Phi Foundation each year, which supports heart disease research. Stanford Alpha Phi raises money for our philanthropy by hosting "Mr. Alpha Phi," a male beauty pageant which attracts hundreds of supporters from the Greek and Stanford community.
More than anything, Alpha Phis love having fun with their sisters! Each quarter we host a lineup of incredible social events including formals, Special Ds, mixers, retreats, Bachelor Nights and a yearly ski trip. Through all of these events, Alpha Phis creates a family of our own. If you’re looking for memories and relationships that will last a lifetime, you want to be an Alpha Phi.

Participation in our philanthropy events is required but there are many ways to participate such as helping with flyering, setting up the event, or participating in the event itself.
The time commitment is what you make it, the only mandatory event each week is an hour long chapter meeting. We have a handful of other mandatory events throughout the year such as our major philanthropy event winter quarter and recruitment spring quarter. For all of these events, they are excusable if you have a legitimate conflict. Every week we have a number of events from socials to sisterhood events, you can choose to attend as many or as few as you'd like in any given week.
